Alternative Stream

The front line of international cinema.

Sound of Film

This section is dedicated to documentaries related to music and musicians of the world. It offers the opportunity to screen films showcasing the music of different cultures and the influence that music has between countries and the lives of those who create it. The main theme is: all of the cultures, all of the sounds, one world.

In 2009, this section included a selection of films that inspired the work of singer Manu Chao. He named his section Cinelandia, a selection of films that included documentaries, fiction and shorts.

Focus on Andalusia

For years Andalusia has provided marvelous scenery for filmmakers around the world. During the last 6 years the Council of Andalusia has supported local productions that today account for the third place among all Spanish productions. The FICG offers this space to seven feature films.

Cardinal Points

Contemporary world cinema is represented with fiction films that have been recognized at other international festivals. These films have not been screened in Mexico.

European Tendencies: Guadalajara-San Sebastian

This section features a selection of films that where part of the latest edition of the San Sebastian International Film Festival.

The other side

Latin American fiction films and documentaries. Produced anywhere in the world and directed by Latin-American filmmakers.

The top movies in 2009 from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Spain and Mexico.

Films for kids

Latin American films for our juvenile audience. Films are screened to schools in the morning. Open to the public on Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the afternoon.
