Celebrating 25 years of the Festival in Guadalajara

Off we go again. Like every year, the Guadalajara International Film Festival showcases the dreams and hard work of directors, producers, and actors from Mexico and Latin America, who present their stories to the world stage.

This Festival belongs to all of us. To you, to everyone. It belongs to those who worked before us in its organization, to those who organize it now, for each and every one of its participants, to those who have the confidence to sponsor the Festival, to the filmmaking family that year after year brings it to life with its creative work and to Guadalajara, the city that has seen it grow since 1986.

In no small part thanks to all of the above, today we are the most important film festival in Mexico. We are an important launchingpad for Mexican and Latin American films to the world and the most active business forum for finished and work-in-progress projects in Latin America.

The Festival is a place where film industry professionals can strengthen their projects, where students and creators can develop their talent, and where viewers can find a unique display of films, different from commercial options.

In 2010, we are celebrating our 25th anniversary in a year coinciding with national celebrations and joining us will be France as our guest country.

We are preparing a great celebration, which is as much yours as the Festival itself. Come and be a part of it with those who know about, make and enjoy the world of film.
